Thank you all for a wonderful 2015/2016 Little League season. The league simply cannot run without the amazing team of volunteers that help us continue to provide affordable FOOTBALL FOR ALL.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of WLL; we rely heavily on parents, guardians and friends getting involved and helping to run the league, it is genuinely humbling to receive such support each year and long it may it continue. We’d like to extend a warm thank you to the senior committee, especially Colin, Matt and Heather who have been the back bone of the league this year. Another shout out must go to the managers; these peeps organise the teams, erect the nets, provide training and are often asked to ref, these hugely committed individuals are ambassadors for the league and have done an amazing job this year. It’s a real honour to see players develop over the course of a season and the coaches/managers are vital to that growth.
Yet another thank you must go out to our young team of referees; Daniel Harris, Abbie Harris, Lewis Acton and Stephen Prentice. These young people have shown great dedication and patience in their roles, which at times were very testing for them.
Cup Final Day was once again a really special event this year. We must give special thanks to Nicola Engall, our lead Fundraiser, and her team of ladies who worked tirelessly on the day (and prior to this too) to provide all the stalls and prizes etc… you all did an amazing job. Thank you also to Claire Rosina, Ben and Chris Fenton for doing the barbecue.
Finally, WLL would like to thank all the parents and guardians who turn up each week to cheer on and encourage the teams. We are proud of our positive and warm atmosphere at the league and all of you are responsible for keeping it this way – well done!
WLL will be back in June/July for the annual trials, until then please enjoy your well earned break and do sign up asap for next season, the space will be limited as the league continues to grow! The form can be downloaded from here
